The thought of having a NF gathering came to me from a few different sources. I work with people who have developmental disabilities.  My job is to help people find recreational activities in their community. The idea behind this, is for the community to become used to seeing and interacting with adults and children who have disabilities. By being seen they become less of an oddity. I have seen postings for NF camp and they all seem like fun. I lack the resources at to implement such a task. Then one day I was watching TBS and saw a show about a Little people convention. Combine them all into one and you get an NF gathering. I can't guarantee you won't get snide remarks or stares. You will get that from blockheads  no matter where you go.  I realize I'm asking many of you to step out of your comfort zone, but you will be better for it.  Here are my thoughts on he gathering. Being at the park with others who have NF can give you a confidence boost. People are less likely to make remarks if you are in a group. When you have confidence you stand a little taller and speak a little louder. It will show on your face. Everyone will come to this with their own experiences, thoughts and ideas. I'm just asking for you to give it a chance. You will at least get the chance to meet some new people, enjoy some greasy food and have some fun. I will write more on this later and I'll see you at the Point.
